"A"-Level Revision of Papers

If you are trying for the "A" grade in the course, according to the contract, the most important labor addition is to revise Paper One and Paper Two again after I have evaluated the final draft. Note: You cannot begin this revision if you have not first received credit on your Revised Draft and Final Draft when we first did the papers.

The "A"-level revision must be total and complete. You must rethink your paper, change your approach, add content (sentences and paragraphs), refine your word choice and style in any sentences you decide to keep, avoid all generalization, use sophisticated logic, and fix all typos and grammar errors that you might introduce when composing new content.

Do not make the mistake of simply editing your paper "to fix mistakes" or "to make it better." Your paper, in its current version, might already be as good as you can make it, right? But the goal is not just to make it better, but to make it substantially different. Your labor task is to produce a new VERSION of your paper and then to edit and refine that new version. What you are trying to demonstrate is your ability to move on from your earlier product to a new one. If you are not sure how to do this, or you don't feel up to the task, be sure to talk to me today so that you can be on the right track.

Remember, this is for an "A"--and an "A" should mean something.
